The project is a part of a reflection process on the future directions of buildings for commercial purposes and is also part of the desire to include the building inside the Picardy territory of Crèvecœur-le-Grand.
The stakes will be therefore architectural, by the inscription of the facade and the recovery of « the covered market codes » (wood-clad facades, peripheral canopies connecting the commercial complex, etc.), but also urban, by the desire to create urban continuities (pedestrian and cycle’s gentle links, etc.)
Traffic and car parks are treated with care by systematically favoring the use of vegetated ditches to treat storm water.
The project itself must be economical in means, but also in energy.
The result is a modest and compact building, for the use of a covered market, with the natural lighting of the sales areas.
