This project is the renovation and the extension of the Plaisance Hotel, located on the square of the clock tower of the church in the heart of the village of Saint-Emilion.
Sixteen new suites are created and the reception and services are developed.
A detached house from the existing hotel by a 7 metre cliff is converted to receive the new suites. A lift has been installed in the cliff to connect the two entities of this charming hotel.
The intervention was guided by the need to off er the customers of the hotel light and a good view. New windows were created to respect the spirit and the proportions of the medieval city, in close collaboration with the architects from the “bâtiments de France”.
This project is to reconcile the authentic with invisible cozy and sophisticated comfort of international tourism. At the foot of the cliff a garden was landscaped as a protected area, a haven for sweet smells.
