The M70 «Flight Test» hall, located next to Blagnac Airport runways, can simultaneously house two «Long Range» aircrafts (A330, A340, A350 families) for variable cycle maintenance facilities. Firstly, it will be used for the A350 certifi cation. Also it has be able to accommodate the planes of the A380 family.
The primary body of the building has outstanding dimensions (about 100m by 120m, with a useful height of 26m) and is extended by a «box nose» approximately 30m long.
From either side, there are the tertiary and logistics activities.
The main frame is made of a series of “bowstring» trusses with a 100m span. Every 12m, they form with the load bearing columns built-in gantries. The project is designed to adjust to strong airport constraints and bears a crane system and elevated working platforms.
The energy circulateS under the slab and is delivered as close as possible to the planes by a set of «Pop-up» pits. The utmost attention has been given to the devices that allow energy saving in these very particular operating conditions: reinforced insulation, natural and artifi cial lighting, heating and control of energy.
